here is our sweet little hippy....i wasn't feeling all that great halloween but we wanted to get her out for a bit to dress her up and do some trick or treating, so to help her out with getting candy, we dressed up too, so here we are the 3 hippies.

mr. pumpkin

two weeks ago we took millie to her first pumpkin patch to get our pumpkin. since we have been married we go to the same pumpkin patch and take a picture of us in the patch. we were thankful this year to add an addition to the photo. millie was not too thrilled of the pumpkins at first as you can see but didn't mind them if we were with her. i like the family shot except that i have a weird, over posing look on my face. then we went to one of our favorite spots to get cupcakes and coffee....and by the way like 5 days later mr. pumpkin decided to start turning greens and browns. what is up with pumpkins not lasting long? we have already thrown him out. i don't remember our pumpkins back in the 70's and 80's dying so quick. i did read in a magazine this week about sprinkling cinnamon in the pumpkin to make it last longer, of course i read that article five days too late. has anyone heard any other tricks to make them last longer?

my parents gave millie a pumpkin, which will remain uncarved and pretty on our porch. side note: my favorite part of the experience is cooking the pumpkin seeds, yummm,not only do they smell good cooking but they are a great salty snack.

i love the beach in the fall...

i love the beach in the fall because it is not crowded, you aren't having to share sand space with the rest of the world. also because you don't instantly break out into a sweat once you reach the sand. we had nice pretty warm weather and the beach was somewhat deserted with a few retirees. this was millie's second time to the beach, although last time she was only two months old and didn't enjoy it as much as she did this time around. she was a little apprehensive of the sand but got used to it. this vacation came at a great time, like most do. ahhh, now back to reality.

labor day staycation extravaganza

this weekend we had a "staycation" as people are calling it now, staying around home and doing things around town. this concept is a little new to me since i love to travel and go to new places and try new things. but our staycation was fun and full of adventures. we went on a picnic, visited the science center (millie thinks tigers are funny creatures), played in the pool, went to the farmer's market, cookout with the grandparents, caught two colds, watched movies, hiked, rested and played plenty. i love any reason to have a three day weekend but i look forward to this three day weekend every year because it means saying bye to the humid, hot weather and hello to the cooler, leaves changing, sunroof open weather! it means football season has arrived, time to unpack sweaters, but for me, to keep out my flip flops. thanks baby for a fun weekend!

these are sweet and precious days...millie has been crawling, pulling up and standing for awhile now and it has been more of an adventure with her. i am soaking it up not wanting her to walk just yet but at the same time i can't wait to see her take her first steps. i have learned to enjoy each of her new stages not wishing any of them away because already it has gone by quickly. and through all of this Jesus has taught me alot about me (mostly about my selfishness) and himself. so i pray Lord that you would continue to teach me more about You in the fun, the mundane, the new, the repetitive, and the adventures of my days just living life.

this is birdland...

my sweetie and i got to take a trip to baltimore this weekend for a friends wedding and the little one got to stay with mimi and poppy!! this is birdland as you can see from the first few pictures...that is what the area in baltimore around the two professional teams stadiums is called, the ravens (football) and the orioles (their baseball team) for those of you who don't know. well as you can see me and my sweetie were big orioles fans this weekend! this was my first major league baseball game. i loved it, one my favorite parts of the trip. i love sporting events; the fans, the hot dogs, the vendors, the lights, the time when all different people come together for a few hours for one purpose, to cheer on their team. the orioles had a good night and won and we saw some great hits and runs. we got our picture taken beside cal ripken jr.'s number 8 (although i'm blocking half of it) and we knew a vendor so he gave us our hotdogs for free, thanks roy!! then the last few pictures are at the wedding which was on an exclusive island about 30 miles from baltimore. the wedding was beautiful, as you can see the scenery was picturesque (did i spell that right?). i had a great time away with you sweetie and thanks mom and dad for letting us have this time away and for taking millie on lots of adventures. she had lots of fun!

my bucket list

i finally said goodbye to the honda and bought my dream car...i like it because it is a car but i haven't lost the height of my suv (easier to get my little girl in and out of). and yes it will turn corners, although i take them a little slower these days. millie loves to look at her own image in the rims. thanks baby for my new ride, one thing off my bucket list!
